Reflection on COVID-19 situation in Germany - elements to consider for calculations of statistics:

* 1. Quantity: Production & distribution/ amount of available test kits

* 2. Quantity: Drive through for testing - only accessible with a code from your doctor to focus testing capacities on real suspected cases.

* 3. Sufficient labs (with capacity and enough trained staff) for processing of tests.

* Please consider that depending on the testing method, the logistics, the amount of labs, the capacity of the labs, the amount of skilled staff the results can take up to two days. Therefore the current numbers reflect mostly how the testing situation was two - ten days ago. While in some countries are not many / enough tests per day in place yet. This is getting better day by day. Therefore please be careful by comparing current numbers.

* 4. Communication channels in place - a) report results to main entity f.e. Robert-Koch-Institute in Germany and b) contact people with test results. In cases of positive test results another team contacts infected people to identify past interactions of patients and track them to inform them to self-isolate and to report their conditions. Contact their doctor and if needed after consolidation with their doctor to test for covid-19 as well.

* Numbers in Germany are expected to triple shortly. May/June worst situation- peak expected.

* Official requests to private sector: 3D printed parts for ventilators and transform existing production lines to switch into producing protection equipment (PPE Personal Protection Equipment)

* Multiple virtual hackathons (NL, PL, Estonia, Germany) happen these days till end of sunday (42.000 participants)
